One month to enlistment

It's kinda sad that only 10 out of 40 from our class managed to make it to graduation ..
Alex is back in KL now while MingGuang is enlisting next month too .



After 3 years of relying on my "20 bucks" rear Chris King hub, I finally sold it off at $350 to sponsor my XC bike and switched to a 72 engagement front freewheel. Feels great so far other than the chain tending to derail on side impacts . Tempted to get a pair of Blue Chris King hubs for my XC bike but $800 bucks is really too pricey for a chunk of metal .


First town ride I organized turned out pretty well . Met some old friends (and new ones) and it seems like i really need to brush up abit more on my skills .


I want to go pulau ubin's ketam trails before enlistment .. !

Enlistment letter !

Just got my enlistment letter .. It says to report to Institute of Maritime Operations and Systems which means I won't be going to Tekong but RSS Panglima for BMT . It also states I should learn how to tread water before enlisting .. That sucks . I don't really thrive well in water .

She seemed to be enjoying her attachment much more than I did during mine . Who in the right mind gets satisfaction off doing underpaid work . Haha . AhSu was being such a brat, trying to climb out of the basket on a moving bicycle and barking for apparently no reason throughout that day.


Zen is such a darling compared to AhSu, enjoying his bus ride and basket ride quietly . His many attempts to score with Tiramisu failed miserably although I wonder why does he even try .. Doesn't he realize his balls had been snipped off already?

I'm itching to ride trials for a while now and it didn't help when HorFun showed up with his Koxx Coustellier when I met him outside TPY stadium after my Napha . Nobody to ride with cause everyone in Woodlands is in army and Francis doesn't really fancy riding trials anymore (yet he was the one who introduced me to trials. What irony.)



Robert's coming back from Cebu so I'm counting on him to ride with and also those riders taking their O levels now can only ride after the 13th . Kids nowadays are taking their exams pretty seriously compared to Weihong and I during our O levels. I recalled we would not miss a ride even if there's an important paper the next day and at best, I'd bring along my TYS .




I have the urge to get the 2009's model of Zoo Pitbull . Recession is not curbing my urge to spend . I think it's time my 2005's pitbull retire to make way for a new bike .

napha test

I have stopped working for a couple of weeks now but had been busy with building and selling bikes. I'm pretty much done now other than some shit to deal with in Shatec so I'm gonna do my Napha test tmr, call up CMPB and turn myself in, and hopefully to finally be able to get some well deserved holiday before enlisting.

Weihong's out from Tekong and from the sound of it, army training seemed interesting. I dragged him along to Bukit Timah trails on Sunday with Francis and he got really beaten up after the ride.

And the next day, I got Jervon to join me at the trails to clock an even faster time. We toiled it out at those steep technical climbs over and over again, trying to get the best possible line to ride in and it seems to get easier after every ride.



The trails have really taken its toll on us and what's better than a calorie-laden lunch at MacDees whilst airing ourselves dry in the air-conditioning.
Pity them whom sit near us ...



Bike wash, as usual .. Clean again and ready for the next ride on Thursday .



Why are Zen's paws like that ? Some black pads and some pink pads ..
Gonna be doing my Napha in 6 hours time and after which, I'll be hitting the beach with Zen, Alice and her Tiramisu. Let's hope the weather forecast is right and doesn't rain over at the East Coast tomorrow ...


One more episode of Heroes and off to bed .

XC mountain biking kicks ass !

No more biketrials for the time being, I guess . Totally drained my bank on another high end bike . Yes, another bike at home makes 4 in total ! I managed to get back a few thousand bucks selling off one of them last week and another one yesterday. Cleared some space at home so now its just my trusty trialsbike and this XC bike.


Got a puncture in the middle of the trails .

Went to Rodalink to get clipless shoes for my egg beater pedals . (Yes, pedals that looks like an egg beater). These are egg beaters that cost $690, mind you.



Helps keep your feet on the pedals even when you crash .


Alright I better stop spending dollars on bikes during a recession . Screw wages cut, 20% increase in utilities and whatnots, go see how much our Lee dynasty courtiers are earning a month .

Weihong's enlistment

It's last time i'll see him with hair in 2 years . Poor guy .

To be honest, it wasn't very fun to see someone off to tekong. I even fell asleep beside his mom during some long speech before taking the oath . When it's my turn, I think I'm gonna go alone but Weihong's mom insisted that my parents come along, backing with the fact that I'm the only son . I guess my mom will probably throw up on the boat ride to tekong because I almost did . And I had a chance to taste Tekong's canteen food which was even worse than that of Raffle Hotel's .



Weihong must have really hated me to have invited me to such a dreadful place. . .
